I learned this the hard way back in 2006 on my way to a wedding and flying at the back of the bus. Had to stuff my suit into my already full carryon. Thank goodness I was able to get it pressed before the event.

oh my goodness just buy an away garment bag that fits INSIDE your roller bag and call it a day. no need to carry 3 different things, no need to wonder if the policy will be enforced or not, and life goes on.
