From what I understand anyone that exhibits any kind of intolerable behavior inflight is a security risk. I would assume that would include stealing BOB food and drink items.
That may be excessive but then consider the number of airport and airplane YT meltdown videos and you realize the real threat to air travel isn't from "terrorists." It's from unhinged, self entitled toddler state adults. Usually drunk and pilled up.
The airline owes the passenger an apology . I thought the snack and soda cart was usually for the passengers ? Myself , I find the complementary snacks and sodas unhealthy and never eat them . What if a snack or soda was spoiled and made the passengers sick ? The passenger might have mistakenly thought the snack or soda was complementary , as they usually are . Best to never accept any complementary airplane snack . You never know who breathed on it , or touched it . Popcorn , for example .

Best news I've seen all year! It's about time that CRIME is taken seriously and CRIMINALS handled promptly again. This is not a COMMUNISM country. Laws will be had and likewise followed. If you steal something you should go down fast and hard, crying all the way! This was a great lesson for all the wonderful children who bore witness as they know all realize that "Crime doesn't pay". There's nothing in the FAR's that addresses theft (there are FAR provisions on complying with some types of instructions, but not instructions unrelated to those provisions).

Do you have any idea how property rights work? The airport is owned by the airport authority/operator. The authority that they have far supercedes that of any airline.... of the airport doesn't want to see a given person on their property, they are good as gone... no different than you in a building you own. The snacks and sodas are not usually complimentary on Breeze, and he most certainly knew it. And, while I fly airlines with complimentary snacks and sodas, I don't take them from the cart.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS. Thievery used to be a huge shame, just ten to fifteen years ago. Now, “urbans” run to the comments to defend or minimize it.
That was an absurd, waste of taxpayer money, from the county in Vero Beach; the airline should have to pay for that.
Basically, when you’re hired as an airline flight attendant, you don’t necessarily have knowledge of how you treat people with respect. Instead of jumping to an absurd conclusion, they needed to do was get the supervisor to speak with the gentleman again. A request that he put the snack back or pay for the item would have been simple. He obviously didn’t realize it wasn’t a free item, no matter what was explained.
Personally, I wouldn’t take anything extra an airline served, without asking permission. For the times I was still hungry or thirsty after the drink/snack service, I would walk over to the service area to ask whether I could have another. They have always complied the best they were able.

Breeze is the next Spirit. (My opinion about Spirit was that their motto should have been "Fly Spirit, you'll wish you were dead!")
