Normally in the fine print of such contracts there are definitions how a check needs to be done. And my educated guess is that such an inspection does not mean to totally unload the cart

Is it me, or does it look in the picture like the rats were all inside of a plastic bag on the cart? Wouldn't that suggest that someone deliberately put them there? Even if the catering trolley was loaded in TLV, potentially some sort of anti-Zionist person servicing the aircraft in ATH might have added the rats to the trolley. Seems analogous to the El Al passenger baggage vandalism by airport staff we have see a couple times.

Those baby rats are called 'pinkies' in the pet food stores. They are there as snacks for the snakes on the plane.
