Irrespective of the owner and brand, every property has an embedded service culture. The first item on Ritz Carlton's ethos list is: We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen. Whether or not that is consistent with this property's embedded service culture is yet to be seen. Remember, the property owner is simply leasing the name "Ritz Carlton" and corporate is not known for brand standards enforcement.
When the locals tell you they’re colonized and seeking freedom, you become part of the problem by vacationing there.
Free Hawai’i.
This hotel is like a beached cruise liner in the middle of nowhere. No matter how much RC tarts it up, it’s still a 1970s monstrosity with too many rooms. They’ve tried to deal with the tiny bathroom problem with the standard room by carving space out of the room to create a second vanity, but there’s still an inner cubicle bathroom with a tub shower combo. The decor looks cheap, particularly the large and tacky wave photo on the wall behind the bed.
@Ben do you know of any updates about the Miraval in Virginia? It is supposed to open this year but I have my doubts.
I mean if they’re benchmarking against the rest of uncolonized Polynesia they are really missing out on a lot of poverty and local government controlled by the Chinese mob. I can see why you’d want to be a part of that.
Looks like another good option to use the Amex Aspire 85k certificates. Of course being branded Ritz the bad part is not getting comped breakfast as a Bonvoy Plat which would get with St Regis
The question is will it go through another renovation as Turtle Bay is not Ritz Level Luxury
I can't speak to the hotel itself, but I have stayed in that area of Oahu, and that stretch of beach/coastline is amazing. Truly stunning.
