I can tell you the restaurant is very high quality. We did come back to JW few weeks ago for the restaurant. Yes prices are high.
I've been wondering all these years, do you ever help yourself to the buffet whether in a hotel or airport lounge? I've noticed you ordering from the menu most if not all the time rather than the buffet. Just out of curiosity.
They told me, that they will renovate the lobby and that there will be a Club lounge early next year. The Pop up restaurant was excellent when I was there. I hat a Suite with SNA, that cleared early and an Amazon view. Would return.
So what is your first choice for a hotel in Frankfurt, with location a factor?
We stayed at the non-JW Marriott property for one night last month for a stopover and were pleasantly surprised. The rate was good (299 euros for two interconnecting rooms for a family), service was great and the lounge was above expectations, pretty darn good for a standard European Marriott. For the evening they had several nice entrees (including a veggie curry for the non meat-eaters, which I appreciated,) the usual salads etc and an interesting "butter bar" with soft fresh butter and multiple toppings to make your own creation to go with fresh bread- a nice idea. Decent selection of alcohol and snacks all day. Breakfast at the lounge was also pretty good. I'd say from the pictures it was almost the same as what the JW offers in their restaurant but since I've never stayed there I can't swear. Neighborhood was also nice enough to walk around and not far from the historical area. It was much cheaper than the JW and now that I see your review and realize their have no lounge I am happy I chose the Marriott instead

I was just at the JW Marriott in June. I really liked everything about the gym except for the Suana/Pool setup. The sauna was 100% nude and co-Ed and the pool was 50/50 with nude to suited swimmers.
As a lifetime Titanium I didn’t receive any welcome amenity and my refrigerator only had 2 bottles of water and 2 bottles of beer, which I found to be underwhelming.
Agree breakfast was pretty good. But overall a fairly underwhelming property in a good location.
You made me check to make sure we were talking about the same hotel. Our room on the top floor was huge (Titanium stay on points) with floor to ceiling windows and a gorgeous view of Frankfurt at night (not the view you had). No strange bathroom issues. Plenty of food very close to the hotel. The hotel doesn’t have much charm but we very much enjoyed our two night stay last year.
So much for brand standards. JW Marriott is supposed to have a club lounge. And yet, like some other Marriott brands where club lounges are supposed to be a brand standard, we have a newly opened (albeit converted) property without a club lounge. I don't understand this, not least because in Europe and Asia a club lounge is generally quite profitable since a hotel will often monetize the space by selling access to non-elite status guests. It makes no sense whatsoever.
The Sofitel by the Opera has a similar lift system but with the added bonus of particularly confusing floor numbering.

I never got to the bottom of what the difference between 0 and Ground was, or what happened to -1...
JWs all just seem kind of tired an uninspired to me. This didn't do much to change that perception.
Regarding the gym, I do enjoy having access to a proper gym, though agree that 24/7 access can be useful. Especially when jetlagged. Does this gym (or Germany in general) have any odd rules about indoor/outdoor shoes like gyms in Sweden have?
I think it's a pain when places do NOT have the destination dispatch elevator. This system allows a more efficient use of the elevators as they can group people and reduce the number of stops. It significantly reduces the time it takes to get from A to B.
Our family of 4 stayed there last Christmas and enjoyed the location, close to Christmas-Markets.
More recently we stayed at the Falkenstein Grand, Autograph Collection a bit outside, which we loved a lot more as a Hotel. Best playground I have ever seen on a hotel property!
None. 0 is common in U.K. and Europe instead of G. -1 may have not been on the buttons as it was a non-guest access floor.
An exceptional choice for both business travelers and families looking for upscale accommodation in the heart of this global city.

I do not enjoy staying in Frankfurt yet I have had to stay there several times due to needing to take early morning flights. Most recent stay was at the Hilton at the airport. It was adequate for a one night stay. The Hyatt near the airport isn't a bad option given there are taxis lined up to take you on the couple of minute ride to the terminal. This property actually works nicely if you are using the FCT in Frankfurt. Soo many interesting places to visit in Germany. Frankfurt just isn't one of them.
