Everytime I see these hotels, one thing that still strikes me is the bidet that sits next to the toilet.
As someone who grew up either on using toilets without bidets, or when they are with bidets, it's the more advance kinds you see in places like Japan, why don't hotel brands just go all out.
It seems uncomfortable and messy overall just to squat and wash yourself on another thing when there's a better option available on the market. Most of the time my partner and I just end up not using the bidet altogether.
Do you recommend Dubai in June? I ask because it can very rarely be too hot for me but I’ve read this not to be the best time to vacation in Dubai.
Perhaps an oversight, but I'm currently staying at the Bulgari in Paris and no welcome drink was offered. The rest of the offerings are similar, however.
The Bulgari Dubai looks like a very nice hotel and Dubai seems to have lots of buildings with a unique modern architecture. But what is there actually to do ?
It seems to be weird to fly half around the world to enjoy cocktails, a nice dinner and an artificial beach.
June to September are probably not the best months to visit, weather wise, IMO.
I suspect the answer is, for most of the world that has toiletted in this style, that this is what most of the world is used to. (I agree that this sounds like a workflow that takes too long ... )

I don't know why, but that beach looks depressing. It's the most artificial beach i've ever seen. Kind of like the lagoons at Koolani, but worse.

Betterhub, taking a trip to Dubai is NOT AT ALL like taking a trip to Singapore. It is pretty much like comparing going to New York (SIN) with Six Flags (DXB)

That's all the instagram generation cares about. Fly somewhere, post photos of posh hotel, drinks, shopping. Photoshop the beach to look half decent. That's all that matters...
Are those middle class apartments in eastern europe on an artificial lake? Doesn't look like a luxury hotel on the beach. Brutalist architecture. If I hadn't seen the price tag I wouldve expected USD 150 to 200 a night like MGallery on the Palm.
For that kind of money I prefer the Burj Al Arab. As pleasant as this looks, it appears to be like an Edition Plus. Soulless.
My wife and i went to Singapore in April for a few days. We didn’t bother shopping but had a lovely hotel and lots of nice food and drinks. The parks were great, drinks on the balcony at MBS were awesome. I think 3-4 days was enough though. Not dissimilar to Dubai where we went with the family last September. We ended up extending our stay but most of the time we just sat by the pool (which was lovely). The beach was horrible (water like a bath). Day trip to the dunes was fun.
Great review as always, Ben, however it is not the case that each Bulgari Hotel has a Niko Romito restaurant as both Bali and London do not have them.
I would avoid May-September as it is too hot to do anything, many businesses close for the summer, and if youre a beach goer, it is jellyfish season in some beaches so not suitable for swimming. General advice is Oct-Apr as being the ideal season, but MY personal opinion is the sweetspot of Nov-Dec. Perfect pleasant weather, everything is open and buzzing, great vibe all around and not TOO crowded if you stay before Christmas.
This hotel is STUNNING, thank you for the amazing review Ben! Its on my bucket list to visit one day, im in love with it.
