Lucca is one of my favorite cities anywhere. Small, walkable, touristy --but not overwhelmingly so. You can walk the full city wall in about an hour. Awesome to have a luxury property in that beautiful town.
This town is beautiful We did the whole rents bikes ride the wall thing on a day trip from Florence. In early October it was perfect and our lunch was fantastic. Would love to return post C19.
Let me add a third thumbs up for Lucca.
One of the only Italian cities with an intact medieval wall, and the food's as good as Florence without being overrun by tourists like Florence.
I was also excited about this new hotel and booked in mid-2020 for June 2021 back when it was still a Category 3 for 17,500-20,000 points per night. Unfortunately, I might not be able to make it to Italy in June and will be sad if I have to cancel.
Looks like a great property, and a bargain at Cat 4 (which I suspect will get re-adjusted to a higher category by next year).
Like others said...this was cat 3 when first available to book so nice sneaky category change from Marriott.
Looks great. Unlike most Italian hotels, they seem to have invested in furniture etc. recently.
Will be excited to check it out. We stayed at the Renaissance in Barga and made a day trip to Lucca. Il Ciocco left a lot to be desired on our last stay.
