During my Aria Suite Adventure to Hong Kong, I had the chance to check out several lounges at Washington Dulles Airport (IAD). After visiting the Capital One Lounge, Chase Sapphire Lounge, Turkish Airlines Lounge, and Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, I stopped in at the Lufthansa Business Lounge.

Dulles is my home airport, and I like the Lufthansa business lounge because it is one of the only spots in the airport with dedicated work desks. It's a convenient spot to take a call or crank out a few emails before getting on the plane.
One added feature of this lounge (along with the TK and AF lounges at IAD) is the ability to board directly from the lounge and skip the gate lice. They even allow you to board from the lounge if you are seated in Y.
The Senator Lounge upstairs (with a garish and rather yellow spartan decor) does as is noted have great tarmac views. I found the food in the Senator Lounge - like the business lounge to be heartier! A large variety - with soft pretzels to boot! Both lounges could use a refresh like Boston and Newark lounges. There is more than one shower suite in the business lounge - and they are surprisingly well equipped. Senator lounge guests get a pass and go downstairs for a shower - with a nice attendant escorting you to an available shower room. I often go to the Lufthansa lounges to get work done - easier to do there than at more crowded Turkish Lounge. I can see this lounge getting crowded with all the *Alliance gold passengers (mainly United) flying domestically (like me), who prefer a better lounge experience.
Your review is a joke ! I was in Washinton last summer, with a first class flight to Munich.
There was only one lounge for business and first, with a wooden screen dividing the two sections. The choice of food was almost inexistant, and with no staff !
I had the chance to see the difference when reaching Munich and its first claas lounge : sure you were in Dulles ?
If you were in First Class, you would have been in the Senator Lounge upstairs, not the lounge reviewed here, which is the Business Lounge downstairs.
If you were a business class passenger on Star Alliance, I see no reason to use this over the Polaris Lounge though?
And the First Class section up stairs is not a 1st Class Terminal Nice service small ala carte menu but most important great Views to the beautiful Terminal
Agree - it seems the Lufthansa lounges I have been to are very "work" friendly
