My last flight on LH A340 was FRA-LAX. I was 2A. The singer Seal was 1A and Albert of Monaco was 1K. One of my several flights on which celebrities decided to join me in the air!

Sad to see it retire. Flown on it a few times in J on FRA-IAD, FRA-DEN and I think FRA-YVC.

Back when lifemiles worked, I snagged many Lufthansa F flights on 346 and 748. Most memorable was Fra jfk with Harvey Weinstein onboard. 😬

Hey all. I flew on a Lufthansa a340-600 in 2008.

From Frankfurt to Atlanta, May 20th 2008. Is there any way to find out which airframe that was?

I inspected these engines (Trent 500) on the production Build line in Derby, even flew on one of the test flights around Europe. I then managed the repairs/refurbishments in n3 in Germany. A brilliant little engine in the end. So sad to see it retire.

Your thought about the Z-gates at FRA is exactly how I feel about JFK these days. I miss when there were 747's all over the airfield. Cargo still brings them, but the lack of passenger 747s is downright depressing. I also hate FRA but it has been such a joy to see all the 747s and a340s that still call it home.

Took a trip last year and specifically routed through FRA so we could fly on both the a340-600 and 747-8. The seats on both are nothing special but it was fun to fly both frames in one trip. And we sat on the upper deck on the 747 to boot.

AV geeks are really driving the fares insane for both flights.

Funny to say this. But the hilight of the trip would be the lavatories.
While the downstairs lavs steals the show. Most people don't realize there are 3 lavs with windows!!!!!! The only commercial plane in the world to have this.

Looking forward to the farewell celebrations in IAD or FRA.
