Lufthansa Is Adding Flights From Berlin To New York & Dusseldorf To Miami

I hope someone picks up the RSW route.

I'm checking TXL-JFK route, and first class seats only available to HON Circle members, not even Senator or Star Gold can select it.

Ben, @LufthansaNews announced that these routes will be operated by Eurowings, to USA, Caribbean and Far East. It’s in their twitter page.

In accord with http://www.tagesschau.de/wirtschaft/lufthansa-617.html both routes will be operated by Lufthansa until March 24, 2018. With the summer flight schedule (valid from March 25, 2018) Eurowings will take over the routes to the US.

according to wiki (take how much salt you want), EW is already slated to start Fort Myers (RSW) to both CGN and MUC in May 2018.

I'm not sure if it warrants a third route at this point ... but I see a good chance of EW moving their entire hub up to DUS, and thus restoring the old RSW-DUS.

with the launch of MIA-DUS, I can now count 9 nonstop MIA-Europe routes on Star Alliance :

SK : OSL CPH ARN
LH Group : FRA DUS ZRH VIE
TP : LIS
TK : IST

So where is LH getting the planes from? Are they cancelling routes or did they just happen to have 2 A330 sitting around doing noting?

Thanks for your information. Prices on LH non-stop EWR-DUS flight became ridiculously expensive after AB departure from JFK. Any news on adding more non-stop flights between NYC and DUS?
