We had a similar experience in Japan last year. My BF put down his iPad at the train station while taking off his coat and then forgot it. Our hotel concierge was able to call and confirm they had found it, we went and picked it right up, they did a little property verification and we were good to go. Apparently, people in Japan even turn in money to the lost and found. And their trains are really fast!
Seniors also get half price fare anytime. You just need to ask before you pay. This applies to all public transport in Sweden. Quite a saving!
