Stunning that it's taken them this long to move in the direction of international/longhaul/island partner redemptions... but like you said: good to see.
Relevant to me given I just received a JetBlue signup bonus. But this news, and the Qatar news, just reiterate the fact that long haul business class flights now generally cost a minimum of 100K points, and often much more.
For example, here, Hawaiian business class from JFK to HNL seem to cost a minimum of 99K points, with middling availability.
Using the Qatar example, an itinerary like JFK to MLE seems likely to cost in the 150K range or so via JetBlue points
Not all HA award inventory is available through JetBlue. For example, TYO-HNL on 12/25 (Y class) is bookable through HA and AA, but not through B6. Not sure whether this is a date-specific blackout or whether there is a broader inventory inconsistency going on.
I recently booked a flight with Jet Blue miles, on Hawaiian Airlines. I was unable to snag any Business class seats, SFO-HNL.
I can book Business class from OAK on an older craft.
Also, Hawaiian blocks Jet Blue from booking HNL-RAR.

I don't believe you are able to use Jetblue points for Hawaiin flights anymore. I entered HNL to OGG (one-way) and no availibility between now and end of December...I did choose to use points. But if you do same exact search but do not check the "use Trueblue points", you also get no availibility.
In theory you can directly book Hawaiian on Jetblue website using Jetblue TrueBlue points. In reality, when I searched, there is 0 award availability, for the whole year. Hawaiian is not releasing award seats to Jetblue anymore.
Seems to be fixed, i see lots of availability now from lots of west coast cities using Jetblue site.
