JetBlue and Blade have launched a partnership, intended to make transfers to & from New York City-area airports easier. While this might sound exciting on the surface, it’s lacking when it comes to substance and details.

The issue is that most customers who are high-end and posh won't be taking Jetblue. If they are, they take Mint and are going somewhere for some time. That means they will be bringing at least 1 checked bag of luggage- something which may not be feasible on a blade.

Jetblue needs to step up its reliability. The fact that American is most consistent with on-time departures is telling

This isn't a new concept (and I realize that it isn't being labeled as such). DL and CO had a relationship with US Helicopters in 2008 for J and full-Y pax for complimentary (+taxes/fees) chopper service from JFK/EWR into Manhattan. Googled it and found this link: https://news.delta.com/delta-offers-complimentary-us-helicopter-service-between-jfk-and-manhattan-customers-traveling

I'm not sure how long this was in effect, but I seem to recall that it was at least a couple of years.

I would think the types of passengers most likely to use this benefit are business people, who would likely be traveling for a shorter amount of time and with carry-on only, no?

I’m with you Ben , choppers scare me , one engine ….and they crash , it seems, more than I’m comfortable with - I used to take them from the Pan-am building ( dating myself ) and they were sometimes so scary with winds that I had panic attacks

Jetblue offers 4 free Flyblade vouchers. They were amazing. Saved me 4 hours. Blade is the most efficient transfer service i have seen in my 35 years of flying. On 3 of trips i was the only passenger on board. Right on time. Great McCallan whiskey tasting in lounge. Luggage is fine to take on. 7 min ride. To me this is amazing value.
