Review: Park Hyatt Vienna

Wow, having a bed in the lobby and reception area that looks just like the one in your hotel room is VERY impressive. 😉

I was there recently and I second your thought! The hotel imo is the nicest Hyatt in any major city I have ever been in! Food and service was excellent. Though I do wish the danishs were more diverse. Also how amazing were the potatoes that came with the omlette!?... Anyways I didnt have a single issue with the service, in fact I had a waitress I had forgotten her name but she even recommended things for us to do... She also was a chef who decided to become a waitress because the hours were better for her. I sat in the left corner which typically was her area.. also another great thing I loved was the lactose free milk and the fact the coffee service had a designated runner who would serve just the coffee. Also, (one big run on sentence because I am raving about this place) I loved how they had local honey. That was a neat thing too! P.S AMAZING pics!

Hotel Bristol. Stayed in their Junior Suite same time as you. Was spectacular! Better View as well :p

Totally agree about the service. Stayed in same type of suite in April. Hotel is absolutely gorgeous and clean. Service was abrupt and disappointing at times at the front desk and The Bank. Housekeeping was spectacular though. Had a few special requests and they were handled seemlessly. Concierge and bellman were very welcoming and helpful.

I would definitely stay there again, despite the hiccups in service. But it was not even close to the service experience at the PH Sydney.

Off topic but my mom sent me a picture of herself in first class from Boston - Miami this evening and I noticed the seats looked a bit different. Turns out she was on a 757 with angled lie flat seats. This is a pretty short route, I am sure this is not typical. What gives?

Is it just me or are a lot of pictures in the beginning not in the right place? (e.g. the pool with the caption 'PH Vienna Hallway" and the bedroom with the lobby caption)

This had the same feeling of Intercontinental Porto / Oporto, a restored building with a modern and classic feeling, though this hotel looks way more upscale.

We stayed there for 5 nights; in a Park Suite. Ours did not have a door connecting the bedroom to the bathroom so it was kind of a long trek at night to the toilet.. it was still a fabulous hard product but I too found the service to be disappointing...

The rooms we thought somewhat inferior and the Diamond recognition other than the expected breakfast non existent.
As Diamond members we were shockingly high pressured to buy our upgrade?WTF
When we refused we were offered a low floor average guest room
We will never be back to the overpriced New York Property and their disregard for Hyatt Gold Passport members.What gives?

It's been a while since I've been to Vienna, but when I was there for work 2 years ago, the Palais Hansen Kempinski on Schottenring was the best hotel in town. Beautiful restored building, impeccable service, and great breakfast buffet (with champagne). The PH does look equally amazing, though.

Stayed for 7 nights in July. Was not able to grab any point+cash nights, so use points for the entire stay. (Thanks for the Chase Hyatt card promo-20% point back, making it 20000 points per night, super!)

Was upgraded to a Park Suite without asking. The first suite they showed me is absolutely gorgeous! The color tone is much lighter than the one you stayed and it is to my wife's taste. Wife loved it! However, it had very strong cigarette smell! We had to wait for like an hour or so to change to the next available suite. We were invited to enjoy some free afternoon tea at Pearl, one of their bar/restaurant/lounge. (hi-tea style, forget what they called it). After an hour, we were offered another suite, which was pretty much the same as what Lucky got.

Overall, it was a great place to stay in Vienna. The hard product is great! However, the service level is not consistently great, which they should continue working on. Some parts of the service they provided are really "above and beyond", but some are just okay or a bit disappointing (such as the smoking suite).

I stayed 5 nights with my family at the Park Hyatt of Vienne in december 2014.
I would like to thank all the staff for their professionalism and their kindness throughout our stay.
We had to dinner to the restaurant The Bank. l congratulate them on the wealth of the Carte .The food here is spectacular and varied.
Rooms are spacious, decorated well, and very quiet. The bedding is very comfortable and the effective room service.What is important having spent the day to visit Vienna.
The evening of the New Year's Eve celebrations was a success.
The hotel is located at the heart of Vienna and near to everything.
We shall return with most great pleasure there.

my parents JUST checked in today on vacation. they have a lot of Marriott points, so tend to burn them at Ritz Carltons, but i implored them to pony-up the cash and just try this hotel having read this review (RC Vienna looked just okay). they said, and i quote my father, "the finishes in our room are like the Ritz Carlton times 3. it's simply magnificent". so we'll see if the service bugs them, but i've NEVER heard them more excited after the first hour in a hotel. thanks for the review Lucky.

Do you think that every hotel, when offering breakfast, is trying to compete with middle eastern or asian properties? The fact that it isn't huge doesn't make it inferior. Some people actually find that level of excess a turn off at times.
