was just on the same route last week. simply amazing and it was great having an aussie crew. can't beat champagne and eggs over west australia!

I have a ton of BA Avios but just moved to the US so was going to start collecting AA points - I presume this is best for Etihad?

@Mark Yes, AA points are best, though EY's points can be useful since they have a distance based chart. You can transfer Citi TY and Amex MR points to Etihad's program.

How does Lucky damage the environment when these flights are going to fly with or without him?

@Lucky We're considering SEZ-AUH-IAD in EY F but are tempted to try SEZ-AUH-JFK-DCA to try the EY Apartments on EY103. EY103 leaves at 3:35am in the morning while EY131 to IAD leaves at 10:45am.

I like the flight departure time of 131 a lot more. Is it worth making another connection and leaving at 335am just to try the apartments?

I've flown EY454 last autumn in F.

IFE didn't work, they gave us [in F, not sure about J] iPad mini each with all the contect loaded [only missing flightmap and cameras] and on arrival in Sydney a letter about getting 20,000 EY miles which were deposited in the account shortly afterwards.

Flight manager went to every single passenger on board to apologise for that.

Readers on this blog realize you like Gulf carriers First Class. It is like reading the same trip repert over and over. We all hope you will put will put your hedonistic aspirations aside and start reviewing some airlines we actually fly. this is getting stale...

Why don't people just skip the posts they don't want to read. Hope I never sit next to some of these hopelessly cranky people!

Somewhat bizarre to have a review start with "we" when it is promoted an individual writer........looking at all the other Boarding Area writers and not a single one of them write in the plural tense.......not sure why this is a necessary statement............

Lucky is the Queen of Premium Travel. He's supposed to write in the royal we. Or possibly it might just be—as previous installments suggest—that this is a report from a romantic vacation with his cutie honey pie.

Finally noted that the Etihad A380 First Apartments have uncomfortable beds - despite all this "best in the world" claims (which is a lot of hype - it's up there but not "the best"), this is a real mark against the EY A380 First Apartments.

I even choose to fly Etihad's 777-300ER First over the A380 because of this (its not perfect either, but the ergonomics are much better).

Flew EY454 in November. Awesome product. Bed was comfortable for me. I usually like to try different products, but I could come back to this again and again.
