Oasis Joins World of Hyatt -- Earn & Redeem Points For Home Sharing

Of course, this happens right after we stayed at an Oasis property. GAH.

Not sure it would be up to your exacting standards if you love hotels, but the place we picked in Rome worked great for us.

Does this mean that if one does a search on hyatt.com that Oasis properties are included in the results?

Not too sure about this move. I do not understand how standards will be maintained in the long run: most places, for example in NYC and SF, are advertised on Oasis but also on One Fine Stay or Air BnB. Clearly, they will struggle to keep up with expectations at some point in my opinion. Plus Hyatt House was perhaps a more strategic hybrid product to be pushed even further, especially closer to the city centres. And I would add that ethically, having lived in some of the most expensive cities in the world, I am more or less against those sharing homes that come with just an nightmare for residents including nuisances, rising rents and lack of control from local governing entities.

Ah, this explains the glitch when my recent 6-night stay at a Hyatt Regency came with an "Oasis bonus" (1,000 extra points per night) when it posted to my account! (Two days later, it was gone.) I couldn't figure out what the heck that was for...

@ TravelinWilly -- I don't believe they'll be included directly in those results, but rather you'll have to go through a separate page (otherwise you'd see hundreds of results in some cities).

I was really really waiting for this to happen, unfortunately the destination I need the most is San Francisco and most listings there have a 30 nights stay minimum...

We list our properties with Oasis Collections in Santiago, Chile, and Oasis has been great. It’s a selective process to be able to enter their inventory, and their support to both guests and hosts is top-notch. I definitely would characterize Oasis as a worth while premium over a typical home rental site.

For our properties, the number of points depends on the length of stay, but on average it’s about 15,000 points a night, fairly generous on Hyatt’s part.

I wonder if an Oasis charge posts to my Chase account as “Hotel” or as “Rental.” It would be nice if I could use my annual Sapphire $300 travel credit for an Oasis stay. Any idea?

Wyndham started this concept with their ownership of www.cottages.com. Although they are limited to European properties, WRewards redemptions start at 15k/bedroom. F

or both Wyndham & Hyatt, these are nice accompaniments to their timeshare offerings & round out their international portfolios. Nice to see an interchange of points usage for family vacations with multiple rooms without staying in hotel rooms (without w/d or kitchens) but not having to actually purchase a timeshare interest. I really like this trend...
