Fan of the Grand Hyatt at SFO when I've stayed there. Wish they made it easier to apply to stays. For some reason, had to call it in to use it.
A more niche use for these has been for upgrading to Preferred Club access at some of the AMR All Inclusive properties (Secrets, Dreams, Breathless, etc). Definitely a bit different than a Grand Club or Recency Clubs, but provides access to preferred club amenities (pool areas, upgraded dining options, butler service). They often charge a decent premium for this, so a CAA can give you a decent return on value there.
Most hotels have gone away with the lounge, makes these certificates even less useful

The best value in these are for people who anticipate their Globalist expiring in a current year. The certificates will carry over into the next year when you otherwise lose your club access.
