Hilton’s luxury footprint is continuing to grow. A couple of months ago I wrote about another great luxury beach property joining Hilton’s portfolio. I wanted to provide an update on this, as the hotel now has an opening date, and is also accepting reservations (including with points).

can't wait! we spent 2 weeks at the hilton labriz in 2018 & loved it - for a non-luxury property the location & service were top notch...food was decent. tbh we liked it more than conrad maldives, where food was average at best!

Seems like too broad of a generalization. You stayed at a couple Seychelles hotels and didn't like *their* food & service.
So you've extended that to the entire country?
You missed out by not staying at the LXR property in Bodrum. Much nicer than the edition... better water, not as much of a scene, better amenities and great service
@Reaper - agreed. I've been to Seychelles (no hotel points stay) and found everything to be so amazing for Seychelles to land as my #1 country in the world.
Who goes to the Seychelles for the food and service? Did you make it the the beaches on La Digue, the national park on Praislin, the botanical garden in Mahe, etc.?
The problem is, Seychelles is not designed for points and miles. It's more exclusive than that - until recently there were few options to fly there on miles, and the best hotels in Seychelles aren't generally bookable like this. The truth is, the sort of vacation looked at on this blog doesn't suit Seychelles. To get good food in Seychelles you're better off sticking to local food, such as fish, which is some of the best in the world, instead of aiming for Michelin style fare in a remote tropical island - it just never will match up to the style served in cities or in other, better connected locations. Seychelles is more laid back, less showy, quiet luxury; perhaps why tourists there are mostly European rather than American.
I really wish they'd have put it on one of the other islands. Mahe is nothing special, the beauty in Seychelles is the outlying islands.
I stayed at both Hilton Northolme and Labriz in spring 2019. I don’t consider myself a connoisseur when it comes to luxury hotels but I thought both could have been branded Conrads and no one would bat an eye. Thought both were fantastic and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more welcoming.
Also don’t miss the island of La Digue if you go.

The hotel looks great, but am I the only one that sort of, kind of doesn't "get it" when it comes to the Maldives, Seychelles, and so forth? If all you want is a luxury hotel on the beach, surely that's available on a lot of other places that's easier to get to, offer more to see (outside of the hotel), and are priced more competitively? With less mosquitos? 😉
Le Meridien Seychelles Is leaving Marriott next week. This hotels looks amazing.
Spent part of my honeymoon in 2018 at the new at the time FS desroches island in seychelles and we also spent a night in transit at le meridien on mahe and the FS was above and beyond our highest expectations. Le meridien was also impressive for the short amount of time we stayed and we found the seychelles to be much better in general than our trip to the maldives in 2019 where we stayed at emerald resort. The seychelles are harder to get to than maldives as far as connectivity and distance but definitely worth it. Personally don't understand the allure of staying in overwater villas after trying once, not worth the hype and $$$.
Very very attractive. Will put on the Bucket List if there is ever travel again and QR doesn't screw up more airlines in the process of devaluing Business reward travel.
Visited in '93 and was not terribly impressed. At that time I much preferred Maldives or Barbados (Rockley Beach) as the beaches were better and the transportation was easier.
But this property is inspirational and might be worth the trip just for the experience.
I agree on Seychelles, beautiful geographically, service is shite, food is shite, over-rated in my opinion..... got for Maldives or even Sri Lanka before that place
No picture of a suitable sandy beach - no wonder as this part is quote rocky, meaning no small children

Points rate, base room: 95,000, next room up 411,000 points per night, on up to 1,380,000 per night. Nice homework there pal. Either the Hilton website is broken or the worst points deal on the planet. Reach out to Hilton and find out what the hell is going on. Phone reps CANT EVEN FIND THE PROPERTY IN THEIR COMPUTER.
The last time I was there I stayed at Le Meridien Fisherman cove at Beau Vallon beach and I had a great time. The food was excellent too.
Unfortunately the hotel is no longer Le Meridien or a Marriot property...
Been to the Seychelles twice in the past three years and also saw the construction sight of the new Hilton. My expectations are tempered, mainly because of the location. On the side opposite of the hotel there is an inhabited area which imo already takes away some of the magic. To get to the hikes you have to drive quite a distance from where the Mango House will be. The actual sand beach seems tiny.
I disagree with users saying that Mahe is not good. Quite the opposite, Mahe is amazing, you have to stay at the right areas. South Mahe has amazing beaches and in the Northwest there is amazing jungle (Copolia trail, Morne Blanc trail, ...). In some areas like Beau Vallon you have a perfect mix of infrastructure and beaches/vicinity to hikes.
However the main reason why I believe the Mango House might disappoint is the existence of the Hilton Seychelles Labriz on Silhouette Island. I was there in 2020 and it was absolutely amazing, despite some flaws with the service and some of the food. You have amazing beaches directly at the resort as there are plenty of beach villas. You have amazing, even more untouched jungle directly at the resort entrance and surrounding the backside of the hotel. Amazing jungle hikes. The whole island is just the Hilton Resort and a tiny village with 50 inhabitants. 7 different Restaurants, so many activities, etc. I don't see how the Mango House could compete to be honest.
