The Amex Offers program often has promotions that can save you money on hotel stays, especially with co-branded credit card partnersHiltonandMarriott. Weve just seen a great new Amex Offers deal rolled out for select Hilton luxury brands, which joins an existing offer available for stays in Mexico and the Caribbean.
Darn, my offer is only 15,000 points after spending $400 (on my surpass and aspire cards)
15k on $400, not too bad
Why are all the Hilton Amex offers only ever valid in the US? (Ok, almost always..) Annoying
Would money that was spent on an aspire card (and rebated by semi annual resort credit) count towards the Amex offer?
Yay! I got the 20K for $200 offer
Boo! I’m still on a dash to hit 60 Hyatt nights.
Surpass Card (working on the $15k spend for an FNC) - no offer.
Aspire Card - 20K for $200!
I needed a hotel to book in Las Vegas, and while the Conrad is a bit out of the way from where my friends are staying, 20K points is nothing to scoff at.
Hilton points are absolutely NOT worth 0.5 cpp. That is a fantasy valuation. Freqent Miler did the analysis at these points have RRV of 0.35 cpp. If you stay exactly 5 nights, the maybe the points are worth 0.45 cpp. So, realistaclly, you are get $70 to $90 back on $200 spend from this offer.
I have it and will definitley be capitalizing on it, but Hilton award rates are so insane now that I have really shifted away from the brand outside of work trips. I currently have about 180k points in my account and struggle to find anything, even for one-night stays, where I can use them.
Hilton properties have been mostly in the range of $0.3-0.4 CPP unless it's a luxury level property after multiple devaluations. I was easily finding 0.5+ cpp a couple years ago but now it's rare, even in Asia. I have about 780k points left and plan to use it all and move to another loyalty program.
