I guess it has more to do with the countries the airlines are based in rather than specific airlines, it’s very possible that other major GCC carriers would follow.
I think Hilton may have changed the rule about a status match only being once per lifetime. The website now says "Members are eligible to participate in the Hilton Honors B2B Status Match once per year."
