Although arguably the other news about elites finally able to select seats on Hand Baggage Only fares is slightly more exciting for non-parents and parents alike

Frankly (not to devalue this particular improvement) the news that those on Basic (Hand Baggage Only) fares that have status now get their normal free seat assignment privileges will be of a much greater benefit to a much larger audience.
The only implication of this news for me, I can probably look forward to reading more contentious FT threads about babies in F in the BA forum 😀
The LifeMiles program you continuously promote has had this benefit fog years.

IB also offers this since at least a couple of years (I took benefit of it 🙂 ; it's curious to see how despite being both IAG, they do not implement the same perks at the same time...
