I rank Emirates’ new first class as one of the world’s best first class products. Readers often have questions about whether a particular flight is scheduled to feature the new first class, so in this post, I want to cover that in a bit more detail, and provide an update on which routes are currently…

Thank you, Ben. This is a great reference. I’ve taken EK F on 773 (but not the ‘game changer), and a380 (amazing with the shower), both as points redemptions from J to F, 35-70K extra, which seemed like a steal at the time. Anyone who can manage to score these seats should. It’s still one of the coolest luxury travel experiences in commercial aviation, today.

Thanks for this article. I once booked ICN-DXB-JFK and was expecting the A380 on both legs and became speechless when I walked in and saw the new cabin on the first leg.

“Thanks for the clickbait”

Don’t worry everybody, I can translate this for you!

“I’m bitter because I’ll never be able to fly Emirates first class, either on points or a points upgrade, or with a cash outlay. So I will leave a snarky, useless, desperate comment in a lame attempt to make myself feel better.”

You’re welcome, everyone!

@TRAVELINPENIS you don't know who 'Dr Brian' is, much less his airlines of choice and class of travel. Just stick with known facts. And stop brazenly lying.

Out of the massive fleet of EK I find that 9 aircraft being equipped with this cabin somewhat ridiculous. But hey, 9 seems to be the magic number for failed (or maybe just belated) cabin upgrades. LH also has just 9 aircraft equipped with the oh so game changing Allegris Business Class (after 8 or more years). Just saying.

On the A380 one could say that. On the 773 with the older seats? Not so much.

One has to agree with both you and Aaron, EK is both acceptable and exceptional too. However, I do believe that the AF new La Premiere suit might well prove to top EK. I’ll tell you I the New Year.

I'd say the bait is EK having a very limited sub fleet with no intent to expand this product.

All of you have been baited by EK since the days of 2-3-2 J, and less than half has been retrofitted after so many years since announcement, might even been a pre COVID thing too.

And the travelpenile translation is almost correct. People are bitter because they spent top dollars just to find out they got stuck in EK old F or god forbid middle seat in J in 2025.

I'm not shooting the messenger, this post isn't clickbait. But it's covering the biggest bait in the airline industry's premium cabins.

Earlier this year, flew from BRU to DXB on the 777 in F. It was heaven, hands down, the best sleep I've had in the air. Those zero gravity seats are no gimmick, the bedding is super lux, and being in your own private space priceless. Our next leg, DXB to BNE was in F on the 380. While the bar was fun and the shower was nice to refresh halfway through the 14 hour flight, the less lux seats and bedding and reduction in privacy really made a big difference to my sleep quality. Hoping on our next long haul we can grab tix in F for MEL to DXB.

Any updates on the game changer routes? I saw that they keep changing the DXB to BRU to the old 777, but can't find where they're using the new planes instead. I'm looking for a flight from DXB to LON (in the new 777) and I believe STN is still using the old ones too currently for this coming weekend. Thanks in advance!

Unexpectedly flew on the upgraded first on 777 from Dublin to Dubai leg on way to Christchurch in December. It was a delightful surprise on the relatively short 7.5 hour flight. First on the 380 leg onwards to Christchurch seemed a little anti-climatic after that. Soul happily trade the shower and bar for the upgraded seat.
