How do they get fresh fruits in the desert?

How does the hard product compare to AA A321T J? Similar product on a similar frame ...

I have friends flying Qatar Airways in May from Doha to Kilimanjaro JRO, on the a320, I wonder how to tell if they will get this updated product in first class / business class?

@Amol - I wouldn't consider it a similar frame due to the very short routes that this product is operated on when compared to the AA A321T which operates 5+ hour flights.

These seats are nearly identical to the seats that DL, AA and UA use in the transcon 757/A321s no?

I am flying DOH - DXB in F next month. How do I know if I have the new First Class product? Qatar's website says that all flights are operated by 180˚ recline seats. Is this true?

Did anyone actually recline the seat into a bed during this short flight? It's pretty cool to have fully-flat seats on a regional flight but it seems impossible to take advantage of that!

@ phize - By aircraft, seats are different. (Especially DOH-DXB) I recommend the B787-8 which will confirm you 180 degree recline.
If we're talking about DXB-DOH, you can possibly catch a A350-900.
But considering it's only a 50 minute bus across the sea, you will only be able to recline for about 15-20 minutes. So I don't think it's worth flying First if you're just going DOH-DXB.

If you're connecting from elsewhere, you will be lucky to receive lounge access to the Al Safwa Lounge.

If you're departing/arriving in Hamad International in DXB-DOH-DXB Economy, you will receive Fast Track through immigration.

@willy i flew that flight in July and it was operated by the old, outdated recliner seats and the personal entertainment system didnt work. Not very comfortable for a 6 hour flight.

@Joe Yes, I will in fact be connecting from 388 F from CDG - DOH and then onto DXB. I used AA miles so it was a free connection.

Can you try the inaugural A380 flight of Etihad from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai. You might also Get a chance to see and review the new terminal T2 at Mumbai.....

Flying this same product in First to DOH from DXB and connecting a few hours later in Business to MLE. Will we have access to the first class lounge in DOH or have to go to the business class lounge?

I fly Qatar often from the US to the Middle East (Saudi and Bahrain). Great airline, great food, great service.

Emirates use their 777 for this flight which has both a business and first class cabin, so probably equally as good for this route.

You should try Fly Dubai for this route next time, also getting to try out terminal 2 at DXB!

I find Qatar's catering to be no better or worse than their Gulf rivals on these ultra short flights.
As for the lie flat seats, it's a big bonus, although bear in mind that Emirates (777 and A380) and Gulf Air (A321 and some A320) offer lie flats too. Also see Gulf Air and Oman Air flying their A330s around the Gulf occasionally.
