Interesting they’re concentrating on A350 and 787 operations: what’s happened to their 777s? Cargo? Grounded?

actually, when you throw in Qatar's Other Comprehensive Income/Losses (i.e fair value adjustments) their comprehensive loss was nearly $20 billion Qatari Riyals.

@the nice Paul. Recently they flew a 777 from noumea to Melbourne. It was a cargo flight according to flight radar. No international PAX flights into Melbourne at the moment. I sadly got excited when I saw it in the air a few weeks ago.

It's common accounting practice to prepare your accounts and then present them with and without the exceptional items and it makes comparison between years for your ongoing operations more sensible.

Even US airlines do it!

Qatar Airways have been reporting losses since a long time ago. Nothing new here.

I think you missed out on something. Qatar Airways last year loss was actually $ 1,3 billion and not $ 600 million-ish as they announce last year. It's "re-stated" in this year financial statement (look at page 3 , loss for the year of 2019). So you're spot on , the tip of the iceberg is just getting bigger and bigger 🙂
