Etihad began A380 service in December 2014 (I was lucky enough to be on their inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi to London), making them one of the more recent airlines to begin taking delivery of the whale jet. They really did something special with the plane’s onboard experience, between The Residence and First Class Apartments.

Lucky, just so you know, Emirates have stopped using A380 to Doha so the A380 to Kuwait is currently the shortest A380 route in the world for the 2nd time.
I'm surprised QR is still taking A380s. They don't seem to have much use for them.
Their F class is going to seem pretty pointless once the QSuites arrive
The news for the 747 is much more dire. Boeing is threatening to shut down production forever and retire the brand. The biggest fleets of the current model are LH's 19 and KE's 10. They're currently making only six planes a year on a production line mostly already converted to building extras for the long-obsolete 767.
And the entire business is based on freight-only models.
Shame. It's a beautiful jet.
I thought BA still had some A380's on order?
BA still has 27 747's, I believe and only the A380 can carry an equivalent payload as those 747's get gradually retired.
It would be a sad days if production of them both ceases, and that means no new planes with more than 4 engines (assuming the Avro RCX/BA 146 are no longer being built anyway.
