A few weeks back, in late May 2025, points transfers from all major transferable points currencies to Emirates Skywards were suspended. There’s now a positive update, as this functionality is back across the board.

Notably, Citibank to Emirates points transfer is now back to 1000:1000 ratio

Just a note: The 1:1 ratio continues into July. That's when the 1:0.8 ratio commences.

While yes the surcharge is almost 1k for a lot of trips, skywards redemptions represent good value especially in first class. Imagine if you fly from USA to Asia in the first class cabin. For 2k and 378k points you can fly a cabin that would normally cost 18-22k USD. If you’re someone whose going to use the amenities, value the premium food, wine, and liquor this is a great redemption.
