On the surface Emirates has one of the most attractive wifi offerings of any airline. Emirates’ fleet consists exclusively of A380s and 777s, and a vast majority of those planes have Wi-Fi.

This is actually way better. So my wifi will be free on my next MXP-DXB-IAD flight in F and there will be way less people (e.g. peasants) on it.

Fair enough. But one could make the opposite argument too-- i.e., given the laptop ban, free wifi would lure travelers to EK.

When is the ban going to end?

I love this site, but much too much is made about wifi (and caviar, champagne and cappuccino). Some people fly all over the world without any of these.

@ Adi -- It will be published tomorrow, just putting the finishing touches on it as we speak. Sorry, has been a crazy week and this takes quite a while to write.

Dangit and I'm flying Emirates in early august out of LAX. Now here's one thing I didn't get. It says if you are a skywards member, then you get unlimited free wifi. I have a skywards account but rarely use it. So does that mean without any Skywards status I Get free unlimited wifi? Or do I need to have status to get free unlimited wifi?

Any bet if this will be a benefit for status. I'm actually going to be hitting Skywards silver on the 14th and then have another flight at the end of June in economy.

As of now, the wifi is great for whatsapp.

I'd say, unless the airline and wifi company are willing to expand the offering with speed, and reliability, then any price increase does not justify the service. In the USA, I feel wifi is already too high priced as it is for such slow, unreliable service that disconnects automatically while you're in the middle of using it actively. Gogo I'm talking about you bucko.

Hey, just wanted to let you all know that as of October 31st, 2019 the wifi is still a nightmare. I haven’t be able to get any work done on my 13 hours flight. I’m very annoyed by this actually.
