No love for the new qf lounge?

Sucks about the hot water 2 days in a row.

Wow, that menu is very impressive! It's too bad the food wasn't all delicious, because it sure does sound good. Was the hot water issue just in the Clubhouse or did it affect other parts of the airport, too?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but one reason there may be no TSA Precheck line is that it wasn't initially available for international flights. And I believe it's still only for intl. flights on certain airlines. Which aren't the main ones at T2.

So they may not have been planning ahead, and if it's a small area, they may not have the room to add it.

It's odd (to me) that VS didn't keep something like the power outlet equipped high tops that were a prominent part of the old NZ Koru Lounge that preceded VS in this space. Otherwise, it sounds much swankier than it was back then.

The only non-US airline that offers Precheck is Air Canada, so it looks like the only passengers at T2 which would be eligible for Precheck would be Hawaiian's and Sun Country's (and I wouldn't be surprised if Sun Country isn't even set up to offer its customers Precheck). So really not much value for them in adding one.

Similarly, JFK T1 and IAH Terminal D, for example, also don't have Precheck.

Food for order is all free at the club? PS: You need new shoes 🙂

@BrooklynBoy: Just in the Clubhouse. The restrooms and restaurants outside of the Clubhouse were operational and had hot water.

@Bgriff: But I had Precheck on my ticket, even on the LAX-LHR leg.

You only had precheck on your ticket because of the delta ticket stock. Precheck is per airline.

You'll get a similar precheck experience early in the morning or late at night at many airports, when they have short lines and decide to close precheck.

I was in London on that miserably hot day shown in your daily mail photo. It was not pleasant.

Is the Virgin Clubhouse open to substantially more travelers? Is it a business class lounge, and therefore all the more impressive for its breadth and depth of service and offerings?

I've been to both. Your comment was "the best airline lounge"....which is just dead wrong my man! You can qualify all you want in these comments but it ain't the best airline lounge. Period. Dou le period.

True fewer people can access the QF F lounge (although to be fair, any AA EXP can use it....aka half the universe....when traveling internationally I presume). But come on. "best" is "best". Your best has an astericks on it!

But I still quite enjoyed your review despite my snarky comment.

Very nice review. We are looking forward to our next trip with VA this year and hope to have as great an experience as you did.

So was just at the VS LAX lounge this week (as well as April 2017) and each time, the lounge is FANTASTIC! The food that I've had both times were exceptional (so much so from the first visit, that I arrived extra extra early this year). Had 6 courses, and each were just pretty visually and very tasty. The champagne now is Lanson. Food options have rotated a bit but the miso donuts are perfection. Still need to go to the restaurant itself. Can't wait for my next VS trip to LHR, sadly not likely until 2018.
