Odd, as in the case of Ketamine this is far more a drug used for therapy and treatments than it is for recreational use. I mean, pretty easy to get Ketamine treatments all over the U.S. now at clinics. A friend who has suffered from depression for years started on it six months ago and it truly has changed his life.
Will be interesting to understand the motive of this as ketamine (for example) is completely easy to get in the U.S. and is even legal when administered by a specialized practitioner. In fact, many of the places doing the treatments are more like medical spas than doctors offices. And not as if it might be cheaper to buy in Brazil...me thinks at least.

These are gay party drugs. Partying in Rio, it tracks. I wonder if they were planning to keep them for personal use (maybe it's cheaper in Brazil) or re-sell.
I don't. Regardless, given the ease with getting it for treatments and so many using the therapy now (you can even get home treatments) I wonder why it would be such a big deal from both angles, that is in their need to smuggle it and the authorities being so concerned about it.
Props to them for at least being off the clock when they chose to smuggle drugs.
Prescription amounts are lower than recreational amounts. Usually you'll receive at most 2-4 doses that last about an hour each. It also takes a fair amount of effort and time to get those doses.

Tip of an iceberg for these drugs being smuggled into America. TSA should check every FA with full body scan and drug sniffing dogs.
So, they work for Delta but they were flying on American? They must have been on drugs!
Then if they got caught perhaps less chance of a termination or problems with their employer? - at least that may have been their thinking. Also, Miami is American's hub so perhaps more flights.
