Though we're always loathe to even consider Delta as anything other than evil, SkyMiles/SkyPesos/SkyZimbabweanDollars might actually be helpful here, since Vietnam Airlines, China Southern, and Garuda Indonesia are all Delta's Skyteam partners. What's more, if she is looking at premium-cabin awards, then it has to be said that Garuda's premium cabins are pretty snazzy. I'll be the first to admit that fuel surcharges (and maybe even the redemption rates) might be unreasonable, but certainly will be cheaper than paying outright for a premium award. And if we must avoid Skymiles, Flying Blue is another option - and it's a transfer partner of Membership Rewards and ThankYou Points. Just a thought 🙂

I find this post laughable. Do you make accounts to make these questions yourself? Who asks about 4 credit cards in one question in such a perfect way for you to stick from referrals in.

I am in same boat for a honeymoon in the Philippines in June 2016. Didn't quite have the time to build up miles, so I took the Avianca lifemiles purchase deal. A tad pricy, but got two business class tickets roundtrip for about $4200. Much cheaper than full fare

@Bill - Have you also noticed there have been a LOT of posts recently full of credit card referral links?

Actually, I know Melanie and her fiancé, and the advice is totally solid. I only wonder why the AA Platinum Select MasterCard wasn't mentioned, even without the 50,000 mile bonus offer!
