As I've said before, the $150 AF card is easy to justify. A free night annually saves at least that much. And, the 4th night free festure on that requires no spend.

Should I cancel?

I got this card 15 months ago for the sign-up bonus when I had trip to a convention at an IHG hotel. (I didn't get the premium version because this trip’s expenses would not have covered the higher minimum spend requirement of the premium card.) I don’t use this card any more because I get a higher return using the Chase Sapphire Reserve. I’m thinking I should move all but $500 of the credit line on this card to the CSR and then cancel this card. Because I’ve had this card for so short a time, my average account age would actually increase if I do so. Are there any downsides to this plan?

Weird, most card issuers do not mind if you have several of their products of different tiers. (citi strate alite and premier, etc)

Why on this case? Are they trying to flush out the $49 cards?
