Lucky, could you check something out? I can’t find a news report for it but on Google Flight you can see that Hainan Airlines are beginning a 2x weekly (Mon&Fri) 787-9 service from Dublin-Shenzhen. It only appears to be opperating from Feb 25-Mar29... just seemed strange

Let´s not forget about Andrew´s experience with roaches...!

@RKC - The HU SZX-DUB direct was announced on Chinese media outlets yesterday, and is being discussed on the Irish aviation thread on Anet. I think they will load more flights further into the schedule shortly, as it is so new and suddenly announced. I can't imagine them not running it through high season at the very least.

@GuruJanitor - thanks! Interesting choice, thought Shanghai/Tokyo would be next for Dublin...

Make sure to hit the tea country/hill country and some of the higher end properties in the area. Also check out the northeast coast - best beaches in Sri Lanka. You should also try to make at least one flight on Cinnamon Air - the small domestic airline. Best way to get around, and fliying at low altitudes, the views are phenomenal. They are affiliated with the Cinnamon hotels chain.
