Capital One Venture Card Bonus: 75K Miles

Strongly recommend to check with Capital one’s preapproval tool before applying. The preapproval tool may confuse you with so many similar named card, which is unique to capital one (remember the high yield 360 saving scam?).

I applied for the Venture X and was refused, all three of my scores are an average of 817 ...
Letter of refusal indicated I had opened too many accounts in the past 2 years ...I had opened three...All of which were roll overs for
a repeat bonus.
I couldn't get the resolution department to tell me what I needed to do... other than not apply for any credit cards for 2 years...
In the application, I answered answer a question which I had never seen on an application ...responding that I did not plan to carry over balances month to month, as I don't on any of my cards.... a factor??
a week later I applied and was approved for a Hawaiian credit card with 70K bonus.... subsequently transferred to Alaska Airlines.

I’ve seen a lot of people with 800+ fico scores saying they’re being rejected. Do they frown upon having multiple open cards even if they’re paid off?
