Hah: Wizz Air Honors British Airways Mistake Fare (Sort Of)

I assume you haven't travelled short haul with BA for the past 2 years as they charges for just about everything, including food, drinks, bags, and more..

@ rekyas -- I have flown with BA shorthaul in the past two years. These are longhaul flights, though.

There really needs to be some regulation about this mistake fare thing. Airlines should be allowed to walk back from a ticket sale for 48 hours, and after that, lock-in no matter what. Customers can't cancel a non-refundable ticket they booked due to a "mistake" after a week either.

"...and a 100GBP travel credit to passengers" - just to point out this isn't as simple as it sounds. Affected pax are required to book through their original OTA to access this. Not like BA are offering a £100 e-voucher to use on ba.com.

Flying from Luton is a huge inconvenience though.

BA, perhaps the worst One World airline! I avoid it as much as possible.

The issue here is not frequent fliers knowingly buying ex Warsaw tickets in first class for £500 when living in London. Ex uk fares have a high tax and the fare component is often very low so it’s understandable people are upset especially since it was economy. BA sd have honoured them especially since they were in economy. If it was business or first then downgrade but don’t cancel

The fall of British Airways is upon us. It's only a matter of time before they start whining about ME3 subsidies, like a certain American airline...cough cough delta

£200 for Y tickets? I wouldn't call that an error fare. BA advertises DXB during the summer months for £285 and I've seen WTP (Premium economy) from Madrid to a number of ME destination for similar prices.

I think that equal rights apply. The same way as I cannot cancel without losing my total fare, BA cannot cancel a contract they prepared through their offer and my subsequent my payment. Is there a brave solicitor, who will take this on. It will gain him fame and undoubtedly BA will have to pay his expenses
