Boeing already announced plans to suspend 737 MAX production in late 2019, but the aircraft manufacturer is now halting all aircraft production at their main facilities. The Boeing Everett factory is the largest building in the world by usable volume at 13.3 million cubic meters. I dare not imagine the cost of having to disinfect that, and their also gigantic Composite Wing assembly

A long overdue decision. Airlines are deferring and potentially canceling orders anyway.

forgive me if this is naive or ignorant, but my guess is there isn't going to be a backlog of orders anytime soon. So it's not going to hurt things to shut down production for a while. And some airlines unfortunately will go out of business so there will be second-hand planes to spare.

The biggest concern is the employees- hope they can keep them paid and healthy as much as possible during this crisis.
