The Boeing Everett factory is the largest building in the world by usable volume at 13.3 million cubic meters. I dare not imagine the cost of having to disinfect that, and their also gigantic Composite Wing assembly
A long overdue decision. Airlines are deferring and potentially canceling orders anyway.
forgive me if this is naive or ignorant, but my guess is there isn't going to be a backlog of orders anytime soon. So it's not going to hurt things to shut down production for a while. And some airlines unfortunately will go out of business so there will be second-hand planes to spare.
The biggest concern is the employees- hope they can keep them paid and healthy as much as possible during this crisis.
