The Dominicans have never been lucky with their airlines... The right IQ probably never made it to airline CEO in their country. Corruption certainly played a part too...
but if one comes...

If it establishes a base either in Madeira or in Praia, Cabo Verde, here is an airline which will be able to link both Americas with both Europe and Africa by 737-800. The potential, if not the comfort, is unlimited.

Do you know who is behind this startup? Getting financing for an order like that would be a bear without some serious heavyweights in the C-suite/board and or ownership.

If Bain Cap is involved, they're going to be well funded/c-suite staffed. One of the co-founders is a former Volotea/Wizz Air exec, so there's some good experience there.
