I hope you weren't in Munich, where I live. We have some wonderful Christmas markets here. Man, we could have slamdunked some Glühwein 🙂
We went a few weeks ago and the Christmas market was great. We also thought the Hilton at the airport was the best airport hotel I have seen. A side note was the Opera house near by had a great amount of shows for all ages.
