Youve gotta love Delta. My upgrade cleared six days out despite the first class cabin looking rather full. Unfortunately it was an MD-80, but given that it was a lunch flight, Id have lounge access in TPA, and the ticket was only $99 each way, I wasnt going to complain.

The last time I had a people mover at JFK was back with PanAm. The end was clearly near when the flight attendant stocked beverages from the overhead bins in the cabin. Soda was served from 64oz bottles.
While it may not be a very good terminal these days the Star Trek Enterprise looking terminal looked pretty nifty back in the day as did the old TWA terminal at the other end of the field.
Speaking of terminals --- I have to give some credit to USAirways. I like the LGA terminal. Too bad it's going to Delta. Compare that to the claustrophobic United Gates in the Central Terminal. Or how about at BOS where the USAirways gates are far better than United's.
And as long as I'm ranting --- I've gotten used to broken urinals in the RCC but the TV at BOS hardly qualifies as a modern day TV. Think Milton Berle. And, what, no alcoholic beverages at the USAir Club in BOS. Last month they told me they were transitioning to a new vendor. Actually that was late August and now still no beverages. I'm so glad the USAirways Club is now serving free beer and whine!
Finally, has anyone noticed the hours at the Lufthansa Club at Dulles went from closing at 8:30 pm to closing at 6:00 pm in the last few weeks. I suppose they dropped the late flight to Frankfurt?
Will the automated train ever open at Dulles or will the People Movers live on forever?
I spent several hours in Terminal 2 this weekend. I even enjoyed a ride on a bus from Terminal 4 to Terminal 2 at 6:00 AM on Saturday.
Every time I go to that God-forsaken terminal, all I can do is wonder why on earth it hasn't been leveled yet. There are several third-world countries with nicer airport terminals than Delta’s dump at JFK.
I think Delta is out of its mind putting so much focus on JFK, while having a totally pathetic piece of garbage facility.

The Euro/USD exchange ratio would work the other way. I.e., a confused American who is used to buying X for $500 (USD) and finds it for 300€ (EUR) in the Eurozone may think that X is a bargain when it is almost exactly the same price. In this case, the lady used to buying jeans for 500 units of currency in Italy and being able to buy them for 300 units of currency in the US probably is paying a lot less for those jeans. Whether that makes those jeans a good *DEAL*, on the other hand, is a whole 'nuther story....
yeah, i'm not going to fly Delta again until they fix this:
they refuse to treat legally married employees as spouses because they happen to be a same-sex couple. shameful.

@Lucky -- Was the lady Croatian or Czech? You say Czech in your initial report and then she morphs nationality into Croatian in the more detailed report. Hence the question: Hrvatska ili Češka (Croatian or Czech).
@ Pat -- Sorry about that. Hmm, now I'm not sure anymore. I think I was right the first time around when I said Czech, but maybe not. I vaguely recall overhearing her talk about CSA, which would suggest she was Czech.
Agree about the DL terminal. But, it is my understanding that it is a historical landmark and can't be torn down.
Asking for ID in the club has become normal, started months ago, they are supposedly changing to self help alcohol and need to identify minors, not sure how that will pan out after you walk in the door.

Of course there are instances where discretion should be used but if every passenger carried an extra bag and there wasn't enough storage space, then you would be complaining that they didn't enforce the rules. If another passenger was not allowed to carry three bags, then they could quite rightly ask the gate agent why you were exempt from the rule.
Searching for overhead bin space or tagging bags for belly could mean delaying an already delayed flight. Even though there were empty seats in your cabin on departure, at the time you boarded, the gate agent could still have been expecting delayed connecting pax.

Did you really mean careless or were you trying to say she didn't care? I am not sure what you thnk the baby or mother could have done to alleviate your suffering. Since you didn't say any more, I assume she went to change the nappy at the first opportunity.

Er, huh? Why couldn't they upgrade her if there were some empty seats? And as for the rude...do these companies not care about customer loyalty? I can't imagine anyone working at Cathy Pacific or Lufthansa or Singapore doing that.
