I spend a lot of time in the Los Angeles area, typically at the Andaz West Hollywood, which is sort of my ”home” hotel in the city. I love the area around West Hollywood, and I find the Andaz to be an all around solid option.

"What’s the point of being loyal to one chain when you can get that well rewarded at some unique properties?"

How funny, yesterday I was thinking about the same. However I found another way to get some value without being loyal to any chain.

- Hotels.com rewards earns 1 free nights for every 10 nights booked with them, that's a 10% value
- TopCashBack.com earns a flat 7% on all Hotels.com bookings
- Citi ThankYou Premier card earns 3 points per dollar on travel charges that I can transfer to my Citi Prestige Card and if I use it for American Airline bookings then it's an additional ~5%

So it's a total ~20%+ without being loyal to any chain. Yes, there's no free breakfast and perks like that but you can often book a cheaper and better hotel that doesn't belong to a chain so the cost saving is huge.

I'm torn by this hotel - I'm obviously a FHR fan, but the Chateau Marmont has much better overall service - possibly the best I've ever had in a hotel. On the other hand, the rooms at the Chateau aren't great, and I have to pay for breakfast there.

The service at the Sunset Tower didn't quite work for me on my last stay, but the location is great, even if the rooms are a bit small.

There are just too many decisions!

None of my business, but isn't the point of having a boyfriend getting to sleep over at their place and borrow their clothes?

Glad to see you venturing out of the SPG and Hyatt bubble and checking out some other interesting properties. How did you manage to take these pictures given their no photo policy?

So my parents had their rehearsal dinner there. It has special meaning in my family. It's a gorgeous hotel and I'm so glad you got photos after all!
