Thanks for an insightful trip report. Enlightened by your blog, I too have recently requested a status match with NW (hopefully to Plat; I've yet to hear back) and have already booked 10k BIS with Skyteam; thus, I was particularly interested to read this review of NW's inflight product.

I'd certainly agree with your comments about the tired looking NW domestic cabins. I've never flown on an international NW aircraft, but their A320's and 757's are like stepping onto a 727, IMHO. Retro upholstery and feel to their interiors. NW truly felt like a "greyhound with wings" in my experiences with them.
