People should never whine about a “devaluation” when you have SUBs like this. Simple supply/demand. Too many points chasing awards. Simple inflation. You can’t have it both ways.
Nope. This is a closed-loop monopoly. In Delta’s system, a single entity prints the currency (SkyMiles), inflates award prices, and controls seat inventory at-will. Cardholders aren't getting SUBs for free—they're paying $350–$650 in cash annual fees. You're not defending free-market economics; you're defending a multi-billion-dollar airline moving the goalposts on us. Stop it.

Wow, 200K SkyMiles. Almost enough for a one-way first class ticket from Des Moines to Denver.
I would actually argue that the personal delta offer is actually really this time for many casual travelers. Going to see your family across the country for thanksgiving? 1 Roundtrip ticket could cost you $1500+ most of the times. And you get 2 of them?!?! IMO, one of the best delta offers for my personal situation.
And that’s how the ‘get ya’ because there’s no way those Companion Certificates have any availability during Thanksgiving week unless you book a year in-advance… it’s all an illusion.
