Add Etihad Guest to the list, please. It sucks that we can't redeem EY award flights from aadvantage miles at the moment. I hope they fix it soon!
I would love to see WestJet become a BAEC partner... Avios on short flights in Canada that are usually quite expensive would be a great value.
I would love it if there was a solid program you could transfer to ANZ for a shot at their business class.
Good summary of the trade off. In the case of Cathay, it is already searchable online, so having it searchable on AA.com isn't a big improvement to me. But it will certainly make the award space harder to find, so I'm for keeping it out of AA.com, and I say that as someone without AA status and need to pay the phone-in fee to book Cathay (which is well worth the award to me).
Given that Lifemiles does great business with selling miles at 1.5 cents, does it make sense for them to accept transferred miles for less than that?
@ Ivan Y -- I've shared how much redemptions cost airlines, and it's on average a lot less than one cent each. And that's not even factoring in that many people that transfer miles wouldn't redeem them, and even those that do redeem them mostly don't do so efficiently.
Not a new partnership but wish SPG could transfer to United at usual 1:1 ratio instead of 2:1- this pretty much makes it useless to count them as a partner
I'd love to see some coverage in regions less served by the current alliances. United partnered with Azul out of necessity in Brazil, but I can imagine other discounty/boutique airlines like Vueling, Wizz Air, Bangkok Airways, Jetstar, Air Asia could provide a great niche for more economy availability to Mediterranean and Southeast Asia vacation destinations (especially if you could redeem on them in a style more like Avios - bolt on for short hops or at a reduced rate). Sometimes those last segments can be a pain and prohibitively expensive.
