I believe the “Platinum Credit Card” is different from the Platinum Charge Card (what we usually call the “Platinum Card). It seems that the platinum card does indeed offer the $.01/pt value rather than $.005/pt.
Why in the world would they give worse value to their members with their highest (publicly available) value card than those with no fee cards? Makes absolutely no sense to me.
So, serious rookie question. If you redeem Membership Rewards for a flight (whole flight, not upgrade) rather than transferring to a FF programme, does it count as a revenue flight? i.e., would you get qualifying miles and spend?
