This is good to know! 8D and 8F opened up for me on my recent flight on an E175, and I thought that was random.
Do other airlines do something similar? This would be useful for me on AS flights (while I’m a lowly Atmos Silver).
Good call on the Gold hack. I’m constantly booking 8A-C and 9C and then trying to switch 9C to 8D 24 hours out. A little annoying but what can you do.
As of yet none of the 320s and only a fraction of the reconfigured 319 fleet offer underseat storage at row 4/8 respectively. With 132 A319s, and no progress tracker that I’m aware of for the refit, if you’re counting on underseat storage at the bulkhead and flying a 319 I don’t know that I’d take those odds.
In my experience, it’s 23h59m not 24 hours before the flight. Wait one more minute if those seats don’t show up.
I can’t stand seat poachers who assign themselves bulkhead seats free of charge during boarding. As soon as I arrived to my assigned bulkhead seat I would untidy the adjacent seats as a detterence and had an over 90% success rate. Those seats go out empty unless they are assigned to standby passengers.
