My morning was supposed to start just like any other on which I mileage run, at 4:30AM. Sadly my alarm didn’t go off (well, that’s what I’d like to think, as opposed to me just hitting the snooze button, convincing myself it was a good idea to lay there for just another minute), so I…

Strangely, my two comments have to do with caviar: love the Ted "caviar" label, and I wish I had a caviar-sweeping brother so I could get fish egg pics. 😀 Both made me LOL.

Ted caviar?

Thats a quinoa salad my dear! It's very very healthy. One of the "super-foods." UA is very hip to serve such a healthy side.

Pat, no wonder I was so confused! I never knew UA served anything healthy! 😀

I think the mystery side salad looks like Israelis couscous.

Question for Lucky: How were you able to get an F intl seat on a mileage run? Did you buy a C class seat and upgrade, or somehow double upgrade?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I used miles for this trip, this wasn't a revenue ticket. It's the reward for all of the painful mileage runs I've been doing. 🙂

I was lucky enough to get op-upped to F on LH on a flight from LAX-FRA last month. Amazing! Although I didn't get a little box of chocolates with the moon face. 🙁 They had a big box of chocolates open in the back of the cabin which I did dip into a couple times!

As someone who also lives for the FF miles I am managing to do a first class return trip to the USA this winter - Manchester UK- Dusseldorf-Chicago and back San Francisco-Frankfurt-Manchester.
I did a similar trip with Swiss earlier this year and on the overnight flight they made up a full bed with pillows, a duvet and a thick comforter between me and the seat to make it really like a bed. Do LH do the same? - my plan is to stay awake on the outbound flight and enjoy the service and TV, but sleep for most of the return journey.
Thanks!

Benjamin,

Yes, it's the same on Lufthansa, and I actually find their "bedding" to be some of the nicest. You get a comforter, blanket, and large pillow whenever you want it. I usually already get the turndown service before sleeping, because it's really comfortable to snuggle up in while watching a movie.

Enjoy your trip, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
