Another great post, Ben. From the top: That security agent was &^cking with you. It happens, even beyond TSA and I'll move on. Those Club Euro seats, even with the center blocked, are ho-hum. They waste a lot of good space with those thick, interseat bolsters. Breakfast is 'cute,' I think I'm seeing warmed plastic set into china and a very inexpensive meal. The train into the city looks at least as comfortable as he airplane. Thanks for the post. -C.
When I saw your photo of breakfast my immediate thought was "Wow, a croissant and a pretzel roll", then I read your comment "The only good part of the breakfast were the pretzel roll and croissant.". That is all I need.
Six week tour with an 80+ father. Wow. I wish I will be in that kind of shape at that age although I doubt it. Getting around train and tube stations often require lots of stairs and walking.
Any reason why they just don't remove the seat instead of blocking it? Do they sometimes use the seats as economy?
Sums up Heathrow and short-haul BA nicely... lacking.
Some thoughts...
- The BA F lounge at T3 looks a hell of a lot like the BA J lounge at JFK. If I ever fly QF F, will make sure it's ex-Sydney or Melbourne, not London.
- BA can do OK food on daytime/evening in flights in short-haul business - it's just breakfast that's really lacking in anything looking remotely tasty.
My own evening BA J experience - and a morning one too.
Personally, I prefer the European business class set up to domestic "F". I don't need the legroom for such a short flight but prefer the privacy - the "First" seats are very uncomfortable for me (at least those on United).
As to the food, I agree it looks not great but hugely better than the breakfast on United in C transatlantic. That's pure swill and every bit of it is inedible.
