Fresh new aircraft for Etihad and a new American destination - I'm impressed

Will first class also be the beige leather seats? They're not the best in the world and the only thing I can fault in Etihad, besides the 3-4-3 configuration.

@ hkairlinenews -- First class will be the fully enclosed suites. One of the best hard products in the world, in my opinion.

I just booked a first class award on Ethiad from Abu Dhabi to LAX for next October and had no trouble getting the award. (I'll be connecting on a two class Ethiad flt from New Delhi in Business.

I bet it has something to do with Sabre being their system supplier and exco are probably over having to connect to visit them.

Looking forward to trying out AUH-IAD this spring in the Diamond First suites. Too bad AUH-DFW isn't starting sooner to get a direct flight home. Nonetheless, a welcome addition to have more oneworld partners at DFW.

Ben -

Really just a small detail, but June first is just 170 days from now. Less than 6 months.

"...route launches on June 1, 2014). Since the new service is still nearly a year out..."

Not that I'll be booking this flight anyway.

@ Lark -- I was referring to the new Dallas service, which launches next December. I'd say that's "almost" a year out. 😉

@Lucky - just saw this blog of yours ! I live in Austin, so catching this flight from Dallas to Abu Dhabi with a stop over and onward to Sydney is a no brainer .. I was wondering on the return back is a stop over permitted as well (thinking of Male) if I am travelling business class , returning back to Dallas ?
