I'm an Atlanta resident and thus Delta loyalist and charter Diamond medallion, but I do appreciate the Singapores, Lufthansas and Emirates of the world (to name a couple). I think your comments re: Delta were very fair, and very reminiscent of my recent trips ATL-AMS-ATL. I typically use upgrade certificates and miles, so I don't feel *so* jipped when "BusinessElite" fails to wow me like the premium class on (some) international airlines, but I agree that it's the little things that Delta could do to make it such a better experience. Sure, the food is typically above average -- the last few entrees I've had left a lot to be desired, but as you stated, the appetizers and dessert are typically on par with any other international premium class. They're also making over the interiors of the aircraft (one by one it seems), so you have to hope those aged 767-300s will see better days soon enough. Bottom line though, I realize it's a tough job, but if the whole flight crew could do a major ATTITUDE makeover, addressing you by name if you're sitting up front, anticipating your needs, etc., that would make such a huge difference without Delta having to heavily invest in improvements (anymore than it already is).
