In early 2021, American Airlines and JetBlue Airways launched a strategic alliance in the Northeast. The concept behind this partnership is that JetBlue has amazing connectivity in the Northeast, and American wants to grow its long haul presence out of New York, but needs connecting traffic.

Regarding the inability to use Jet Blue points for AA flights. Most likely AA doesn't want to provide any path for bank points to be used in place of AA miles on their flights--protecting their co-branded CC's at all costs. They must not have liked the results of the seemingly one-time-only period to transfer Citi Thank You points to AA.

I've got gobs of JetBlue points that I can't use because JetBlue hasn't restored most of their non-cross country precovid west coast service (and likely will never at this point). AA sucks something fierce, but if I get to use my points for flights I want, that's all I really care about at this point, since useless points don't do me any good

I had a fabulous experience on JetBlue between Boston and San Francisco as an AA elite (Platinum). Economy out, mint back. Treated like a prince. Free booze in economy, and some of the best service I’ve received at 36k feet in mint.

I am an AA Executive Platinum. I recently purchased a round trip LAX/JFK airfare on JetBlue’s website. The departure flight is on JetBlue and the return flight is on AA. Regarding upgrades to first class from business class, AA said systemwide upgrades and mileage upgrades and business extra certificates cannot be used on AA flights purchased on JetBlue’s website. Does anyone know if this is accurate and an AA written policy? Thank you.

So it's not equal. JetBlue for flying American is not equal to American from myling JetBlue. Unfair, as usual. No surprise. Considerably more fair than others though.

Must be able to redeem Jetblue on American as Jetblue has no direct flights from ATL to EWR! Never would I book LGA or JFK when I wish to go to New Jersey. Also would never book a connecting flight on Jetblue that takes nearly a day to go from ATL to EWR.

My personal experience is - nonsense! I can’t even book a JetBlue flight on the JetBlue website and enter my Advantage number - I have to call JetBlue (always a 30 minute wait) and an agent enters it manually. My JetBlue boarding pass show me as American elite but miles sometimes hit my American account and other times hit my JetBlue account. Once again what the airlines advertise is not always reality!

I have almost 150,000 trueblue points and 70,000 American Advantage points. Jetblue doesn't have good connections at all going from SFO to TPA roundtrip, but American has better. But I need to use some of my jetblue points to qualify for free trips and can't do it! Terrible plan! My only option would be to see if maybe, just maybe, I can call JetBlue and ask if they can book an American flight for me so I can use my jetblue points, but I believe they'll just laugh at me.

Thanks for all of these helpful hints connecting my Advantage Miles to Jet Blue miles. So travel experts I have a question:
1) Save/Use my 295,000 AA Gold miles for Europe?
2) Convert some of my 53,000 Jet Blue miles to head to Whidbey Island?Seattle area?
I await your smart travel tips and advice, Figgy in LA
