American Airlines has joined the trend of offering trading cards, though the airline is only doing this in celebration of its 100th birthday. While I first covered this back when the airline made the announcement, there’s now an update, as these should be available on a pretty widespread basis.

What a childish prank …. and people wonder why AA are languishing in the lower most echelons of the World Rankings.
At least they are true to the brand…late. They couldn’t even have these ready to distribute starting in their anniversary SMH
Woulda been cool, especially with the silver Luxury Liner livery. Shoulda thrown in a 727 while they’re at it. Leave the DC-10, MD-11, 767, and a330 out, though. Good call.
I collect the Frontier Airlines animal trading cards. Sadly, there's only a 50/50 chance whether they're available on any given F9 flight.
United had a few 747-SP when they assumed Pan Am Pacific operations.
Don't think you'll see that card anywhere.
Most pilots don’t carry them . It takes from them to go to the office and pick them up.
They can also pick up thank you notes to hand out written notes to frequent flyers.
I don’t see pilots being topic of bloggers gossip like flight attendants are.
Do they feature the cramped seats and rude staff and worst lounges in industry…and continuous industry leading lost baggage??!! Not to forget the most unique feature that makes AA, AA: 30 min or less change plane layover???!!
A clear indication that US Airlines are still the best and most innovative, so proud to be an American especially when all the other 3rd rate countries are so broken.
But check with any American pilot on this.
They are required to sign out when they receive a pack of cards. And instructed to not give them to any passengers in group nine.
Why? Pilots office says AA doesn’t make any money on those folks so no cards, etc. etc.
They should have had cards with the pilots l, crew, and the GOAT flight attendants that refill drinks before you ask etc. Or they could have had the executive c-suite legacy cards. Like a silver cranky Bob Crandall. About as friendly seeming as Andy Rooney. Moving to the modern era they would have a Parker card on car from one of the pull overs, a sequence of cards with sizers, snack basket items and so on. Endless fun...

Yes... all pilots who pick up their cards will be issued a complete set of 455 cards... 65 of each of the 7 designs. Some pilots are trading with each other to have more cards representing their specific aircraft, but the intent of the company is that all pilots will have all designs to hand out.
